Gulp alive?
Has anyone tried Berkley gulp alive on the lake at all for smallmouth or even perch? Ive been reading nothing but good things and seeing alot of guys using them on fishing tv shows. I want to try them but im not really sure what size to try. Either 1 inch or 2.5 inch in emerald shiner color would be my guess. what do you guys think???

Tried the 1" GA "minnows" for perch...big waste of time! Tried the 1" GA "fry" for perch...another waste of time! Tried the 2" GA "minnow grub" for smallies...fair to moderate success. As a side note, the "fry" seemed to hold a big interest for crappies at one our local lakes. HTH

Tried it for perch with no success. The smallies are a different story. The 3" and 4" minnows work great for me.

Gulp shrimp for ocean fishing works great-none of those pesky fish bothering it! Never caught a fish but the bait lasted all day while I was busy with my other rod. Never did any good with the other gulp drifting either.

I think the stuff is overrated...works well on bass, but bass are dumb IMO, lol...if you don't have emeralds for perch, you're in for a long-ER day, trust me.

oh i know. Ive been there done that when running out of emerald shiners. I just heard someone talking about using them for perch. there's def. nothing better than emeralds for perch. Im always looking for something different when fishing for bass. I agree. There not the smartest fish in the lake. But boy are they fun to catch!!!

I am doing pretty well with the 1" minnows & the minnow heads on jigs for Crappie. Also by them selves under a bobber,as they sink slowly with out weight. p.s. also catching trout with them, but we all know how easy they are. sam

also using the 1" for the stockies and have never seen a bait produce like this...stockies are about the dumbest fish goin but they do love the things over anything else
It's not how deep you fish...It's how you wiggle your worm.
