Has the lake been restocked? I've got grandkids coming and need to get them a place for panfish. Thanks

they supposedly are moving some fish down from butler. maybe the bait shop knows more. for panfish you can go upstream to the lake by the ice rink. fish off the island. also go over to deer lakes; there are always pan fish in those lakes.

Does anyone know if North Park Lake (A) has water in it & (B) has fishable populations of bluegill? I was looking for some flathead bait.

Lake is full. Haven't fished it yet. Some Glade Run fish there.

I have another baseball game in norf park this sunday. Last time I drove by the lake, which was probably a month ago, i could have sworn I saw a guy fishing from the shore. I was in the car thoguh and he certainly could have been just sitting on the bench. there were some kayakers on the lake too.

beerman0303 please note following. even thought they did put some fish in from butler, please give the lake some time to get back to near normal. Really no need to start removing fish from there right now. conserve for the future. give it time to repopulate. I'm sure you can find some other bait for your fathead fishing for now. North Park Lake slowly returns to life Sunday, May 08, 2011 By John Hayes, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Two years, $21 million and nearly 300,000 cubic yards of sediment have passed since Allegheny County and the Army Corps of Engineers, with some financial help from the state, began restoring North Park Lake. With a few exceptions, primarily located in and around the Irwin Run tributary, the project is in its final stage and the lake is slowly refilling. Don't rig up the fishing tackle -- the lake remains a slowly rising vat of milk chocolate-colored sediment, reaching depths of 6-8 feet at the dam and backing up as far as the boat launch. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission recommends that public fishing resume Jan. 1, 2012. The first stockings of non-game fish occurred a couple of weeks ago, and the agency plans to restock warm-water game species for permanent residency beginning in February 2012. Limited seasonal stockings of trout would follow.

This wasn't drained and actually some fish removed from the lake a few years back were placed in there. The downside is the bluegills are pretty small. At least they were when I fished it before they drained the lake.

Went fishing at North Park over the weekend...took my daughter, niece and nephew. I was quite surprised to see so many folks fishing, we were only able to catch some fingerling largemouth, but fun nonetheless.
