Spinners

Was out fishing a farm pond tonight and ran into a pretty heavy flight of spinners at dusk. Looked to be about a size 12, and I was thinking hendrickson, but there were only two tails on them. Any ideas? I thought it a bit strange that they were coming from still water too.
