Got a chance to come up to the Salmon River on above mentioned dates but not sure if the fish will be there this year... any advice from you knowledgeable fisherpersons would be appreciated.

    Be prepared to work and walk....I advise leaving the obvious/tired fish alone...they deserve their peace...

    Also... any healthy/aggressivefish will be in heads of pools or in the black water behind a deep pocket...

    don't worry about him telling everyone because you just did :)

    Hey trout, as I did say before be prepared to work still... if a spot doesn't produce within 15-30 minutes you should move on... good luck....

    Me you and "josh" will fish somewhere else.:>}
    Dimes right. I tend to move around alot this time of the year. There are some big, big holes that I will fish for a few hours because you just know there are fish there. If the bite does not turn on Im 15min in and out of the smaller holes. I notice I drink more hot coco and eat more coffee rolls this time of year. Dam good location for a DD. Crappy parking lot though. Whatch the water levels and fish the RIGHT side of the river when the water is up.
    BTW if you use a round red and white lake bobber, im not helping you anymore.

       I'm a little nutty about the upper river and have generally stopped fishing down low cept for bass in the summer. It makes for some lonely late season days with no fish and makes me think I'm goin nuts cause down is the way to go this time of year and normal folks know it.
        That being said have found occasional Steel still on beds ( remember the word occasional) consistently in the third week of May upriver for 3 years running. Also drops in the holes and brushpiles. If you dont know your way around up there dont even try. Just stay low and you should hookup in the tails of those low pools.
