i've been whippin' out steelhead flies like crazy lately, and soon my attention will turn to smallie's, carp, and hybrids. here is alittle preview of the newest weapon in my arsenal. just picked it up today and the new reel is back ordered so it'll be here around the 1st of the month.

Nice! I know that there are other good rod builders out there but you can't go wrong with an Orvis. I would love to give the Helios a try but definatly lack the $$$
    Congrats, have fun with it!

Dude quit the spam. Its pretty bad to sell flies on a forum run by people who also sell flies of their own. Pretty sure there isn't anyone that appreciates it.

Most guys use iddicators when the water is low to snag fish. I see it all the time in Erie. Fish can see them and they float the indicators over their backs and set the hook. Thats not fishing.

never snagged one, not my style. doubt if many from these boards ever do, either. generalizations are lame. i buy my flies and boxes from fishusa, our sponsor.

steelhound, that is sure one nice looking piece of equipment. good luck with it.

I have nothing against fish usa they have good stuff. I have bought equipment from them. Steelhead get used to the same succker spawns and crystal meths though. A simple analogy: If you eat a hamburger for breakfast, lunch and dinner would you eat the same thing tomorrow? Steelhead are the same way. Throw them something different that they haven't seen and hold on to your rod. You'll have a mint silver freight train running towards the lake.
