a tribute to bingsbaits..

After a trout contest outing for children in which my four year old was privileged enough to hold 5 brookies ranging from 12-16 inches and a trophy for his efforts... later that evening he asked me in all seriousness "dad; why do we fish???..... I answered him with a question asking him well dont you like to fish??? And he said yes.... so I said well there you go there's your reason... all I could think about was bings quote. Id say you nailed that one on the head buddy. Tight lines to you...

Ditto x10. Where's he been? Did he go underground on us? Someone wanna check the Island and make sure he's not up in a tree?

I know there was a hold up at work. He was waiting for an "all clear to cut" type thing...he was chompin at the bit to start work...I'm assuming he's working.

one thing about bings is that if you see him with his hand out, you can bet there is something in it he is trying to give you. and i doubt there is anyone here who has much more passion for fishing than g.

This is a cool thread we should have an anglers award that we can vote on and give to different members, just a thought.   I have never fished with bings but he has offered advise on alot of threads i have posted and seems like a great guy with a true passion for this sport.  I think we can all agree from his advice and willingness to help and the pictures that he is able to capture that he is a true defintion of the word sportsman

I havent met bings yet but from the posts he puts up and the way you guys talk about him he has to be one special person. I posted a thread about tying crayfish patterns and not only did he post pics of the ones he tied he sent me his recipe for them and also sent me a couple samples to use as models to think I never met him but he was willing to do that says a lot.

Totally agree with all the comments above. I've also shared the drift with Bings........... a class act! And always a good time.

You nailed it Rich...Last year I mentioned In a thread I was headed on a canoe trip....3 days later there was a package in my mail from a return name I didn't recognize. Inside were a handful of bad arse flies...and a note from "Bings"

Got the chance to meet him in person at the One Fly last year, definitely a good guy, looking forward to getting him out on the lake this year... Have to admit, though, I'm a little jealous about the fishin' time he puts in...

Had the pleasure a few times....Hellavaguy.
before I ever met him...got a package in the mail out of the blue....
more hand poured bottom bouncers than I'll lose in 5 years, along with some good trolling tips.
Had to return the favor & send some crawler harnesses back, not that he needed them, he ties those too.
Is there anything fishing related this guy DOESN'T know?!

Only met Bings for a few minutes on the stream the day before the One Fly.  That was long enough to confirm all the good that he has done as a contributor to these boards.  I would fish with him anywhere, any time.

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.
