Coleman Skanoe

Anyone have an opinion on a Coleman Skanoe for fishing the small bays and lakes in erie? Its 14ft long and has a beam length of 38inches. Weight limit is around 800. Thanks!

Was just wondering, is it possible to stand up in it? If so, how stable is it?

I had a 15' Coleman canoe that I think was about the same size but without the square tail.
It was stable for a canoe but not something to stand in
    Was also very durable.

i fished out of a friends many times and it was very stable. I would not stand in one unless it had out riggers then i might consider it but not sure.

Since Skip cold busted me....funny story (that I'd like to dedicate to my semi secret admirer....this is what we call useful input)

I took my new "scanoe" (I'm peelin the decals) out for the maiden voyage today. It was pretty windy so I stuck to the Laggoons. In the arse end of my boat, I have my 170 self...a 30lb thrust mink....and the biggest marine batt. on the face of the earth. My shhet is ridin way low in the rear....and way high i.n the front. My "counterweight" blew me off for dinner with his wife. The wind ripped me around some....but it was 30 mph plus. Heading out was ok....coming back, the wind was in my face and roaring. My arse is low.....my bow is high.....and a gust caught me. It lifted the front of my boat 2 ft up (thought I was effd fer sure)....and slammed it back down....I left active fish....scared to death....ignored Skip as we passed....shakin like a leaf.

Not a bad revue for the canoe....it operated great till I was a moron....strictly operator error

Ps Thanks Skip...ya freekin unicorn farmer....

hope your feeling better....hows your cough?
