Anyone used the buttout tool ?

I used the deer cleaning item called a buttout today and I have to say it was great. If your not familiar w/it, it gets inserted in the anus and you twist then pull it back out. Does a very neat job of removing it. Much easier than a saw and knife. They are $10 at cabelas.

Saw one of those at Wally World a few weeks ago.  Picked it up to go show Mrs. rsquared what she could get me for my birthday or Christmas.  After she was done laughing, calling me a dumb redneck, I tossed it on the shelf in the toy department.  She made me go put it back where I found it.  lol!

Still want to get one though, now that I hear that it really works.  That was always the toughest part of gutting a deer for me.  Not 'cause I'm squeamish or anything, just 'cause I always had a tough time doing it.  Will be picking one up this week.  Thanks for the review.

Let me put it this way, it takes less than a minute to remove the anus w/ this tool or 5 min. if your lucky w/ a saw and knife. Not to mention the mess thats left on the meat after the hacking.

I was a skeptic myself but after dropping the 10 and trying it, my mind is convinced. I figured there had to be something better than cursing at the deer's backside.

I understand the tool, but I have been removing the anus for years without cutting through the bone.  The first cut I make is around the A-hole then I start pulling it to one side while cutting the other loose until it is loose all around.  then I grab it nice and tight and pull out about 8 or 10 inches, squeeze out the contents and tie a knot in it.  This only takes 2 or 3 minutes.  Im not saying you should not buy it, but in my book it is just another thing to carry, with you Motorolla radio, GPS, compas, grunt tube, lazer range finder, estrus can, etc, etc, etc.  Over the past few years I have been making an effort to not carry anything into the field (other than my gun) that wont fit in my pockets. But I hunt the big woods, if your taking a quad down the trail to your tree house in the tree row, buy all means, take everything.

After making my previous post on this topic.  I was able to witness the use of the tool this past week.

I have to admit it was slicker than ..... well you know.

I'm still on the fence about carrying another thing into the field though.  But you can bet if im with a guy that has one im gonna borrow it.

Ditto except I use a piece of string or a zip tie to keep all the jelly beans from getting all over...OTH

all i can say is i wish i invented it, ill never buy one though. i usually just gut the deer first pull everything out, make a cut on the intestine, then make a circle around the anus, slowly pulling everything out cutting some membrane around it if its having trouble coming out. haha.  i never like to rush anything anyway in the first place so saving time doesnt matter to me.
