Main Lake

Just wondering when do you guys start taking your boats out in the lake for perching and walleye? I think the western basin starts first, then the fish work towards the central maybe. If this is correct, when does that 'usually' happen? Just wondering if it's even worth taking a boat out on the lake now.

Ever see Titanic? There were lots of ice bergs on the main lake last weekend, be VERY careful venturing out on the main lake.

May 1st for me each year (Lampe Marina wont let us in till then)...we primarily fish for Perch and will usually slam them in the bay or just outside the channel for a few weeks. No need to go deep when the bait is hanging close to shore..

I could hit a driver off of the North Pier into a school of Perch for most of May Drew...if you feel differently then feel free to burn some gas....

Ok, so the perch are still around the bay. Then as the water warms up they move out deeper im assuming. Is this also when the walleye come our way....say in May?...or later? Thanks
