pics from steelhead alley 3/26-3/29

Had one of the best steelhead trips in many years.  All fish caught on float fishing brown trout egg sacs.  The bad news is that all the creeks are getting low and clear as of Tuesday so fishing might be tough until mother nature sends some rain.

Steelhead Alley is usually a reference to all of the lake Erie tributaries across eastern Ohio, all of PA, and western NY.  PA tributaries are called the heart of Steelhead Alley because they are right in the middle, is where the most tributaries are located, and have the highest numbers of Steelhead stocked.

Nice pics, looks like the water was perfect for egg sacks.  Good to see a brown trout in the mix there too.  Gota love fishing in early spring, the fish have seen little to no pressure for months and are usually hungry after spawning before dropping back to the lake.

On the west side middle to upper sections of tributaries, there are definitely people out there chasin steel but honestly it's nothing like late October or the month of November.  There aren't even close to half of the anglers that can be found end of Oct / beginning of Nov.  The water has also had good flow and color for most of the Spring so far, which reduces pressure.  Looks like it's getting low and clear now though.
