Who's fishing this week?
My brother and I will be up fishing wed probably through the weekend. Looking for anyone who wants to maybe meet up and fish or share intel. This will be our first time fishing the river after the new year. we usually just do the late fall early winter thing.Feel free to send me a PM we are hoping that we can get in on some good C&R fly fishing.
Mike

BTW-great message board. seems to be some good people on here. wouldnt mind if anyone wanted to reply with some general info, good fly patterns for this time of year or other pointers.
thanks

Are you fishing the fly only section? The water level is 750cfs and Im guessing it will be dropping by the end of the week if it does not rain. I was up a week ago and there were flies all over the snow, hell they were in my hair. Looked like black stone flies. Most of them were small some medium.Im not much of a fly fisherman unless I getting bass on topwater. I would run pink yarn if I were you. They have been loving the pink worm.
Goodluck. I will be up sat the 2nd.

Hey acquatic welcome aboard. Pink san juan worm would be a good shot. Even a small pink Willy bugger. Also natural hares ears or stonefly nymphs from 8-12. Maybe even a a natural nymph with a bright twinge wouldn't hurt. Also, swinging a wet, tube fly or streamer never hurts... good luck.

I cheated last Saturday with nightcrawlers and only picked up one good one. After that drive, have to hook something-that's my excuse. This is a great forum and everyone has helped me more than I can say.Lots of hits Sat. but trouble hooking them-I guess that's why we keep coming back.My buddy landed a 2lb. smallmouth (must have been lost) and I landed a juvenile Atlantic. What an amazing river. Found some paired up but left them alone.Plotting the next trip. Tight lines to all.

Hey pistolpete the chubs have been on the bite. Might be the hits your are talking about. Hate those little bait theives.
Lifeaquatic I mostly centerpin and bounce. I bring both setups. I ran flies/eggsacks/kitchen sink and nothing but chubs. I put on a pink worm small and large and hit a hand full of large browns and one steelhead. But hey you never ever know what the hell they will be hitting.

Nice deal pistol. And hey kudos on your success this past weekend. Hey pete, did you ride up by the upper reservoir and redfield area. If so, how much snow is still up there? Thanks... and aquatic... you'll have to let us know how you do.
