Useing trout beads

I float fish with trout beads (6mm) on the Salmon river for steelhead and browns with good results and I am thinking about giving then a try this spring on the west branch Delaware river. I would like to know if anyone has tryed then and how did you make out? I also am thinking about giving pink worms a try. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks noodle one

While i haven't tried the beads for trout yet, i have had enuff success with them on steelies that i'm willing to bet they would do real well with trout also. I have used power bait trout worms alot for trout and i can verify to them working very very well on stocked trout so if the pink worms aren't working, give the power bait trout worms and they should get a few for ya.

I would assume they will work great. Dont be affraid to check out the east branch and the upper main stem...a lot of nice water. The east branch usually holds more fish in the early season through may.im actually looking forward to trying some small steelehad egg sacs for trout this year with my son... good luck

Can't hurt to try...I'd be willing to bet they will work fine, especially since they work well for the steel. Don't be afraid to go bigger as well....8mm and 10mm. As for the trout worms...they are killer on stockies...green and pink seem to work best for me. Good Luck.

On ebay, there are tons of assorted colors and sizes you can buy pretty cheap....I thought about painting my own, but the time and effort is not worth the hassel. Good Luck!

If you do decide to paint your own I've seen short videos on youtube that show how several guys do it. The one I tried they showed using paint in a small cellophane bag and just rolling the beads around.  They did come out ok for me. Cleanup was simple. Just throw the bag away. Beads were stuck on a toothpick till dry.

Thanks guys. I saw the youtube videos. The only thing I dont really understand is when they talk about clear coating with fingernail polish. I assumed it would be clear polish, but I see alot of guys using colored polish to get a different look but never got an explaination on what look they were going for. Are they trying to get the milky look of an egg with milt on it, or an egg starting to change from being in the water or what. Ive also seen just spray on clear coat.

powerworms, aka p-dubs, are the deadliest weapon, aside from a live minnow, under the pinfloat. Pink, White, and natural have been my most producing.

Avid, you pinning your usual spot on Tionesta the first day?? Heard you clean house w. the dubs.
