slickfish you hit the nail on the head thats why i go to the peninsula my wife loves to fish the pond for the stockies and does well there and of coarse if she happy i am happy. Also i love to see her catch fish cause everytime she is like a kid at christmas awsome memories.

Well like always, I'm going to go down and watch the crazies for an hour or so casting lines over each other while eating breakfast sandwiches and rigging up then after the 8 am drunks leave from catching their limit in my favorite spot I'll move in and catch a few

Sorry , Ill be there in that spot at 5 am and drunk by 6am and already been catching them on dead minnows tied to flouro with no hook by the hand with no rod. thats fun. Then I step out and let the kids get em at 8:oo. The Deetz

Well dumb dumb here discovered today that instead of helping out at the fishing derby opening day of trout, I will be at a conference. I agreed to go to the conference that day without looking at my calendar and did not put it on the calendar. I had forgotten about the meeting until I went over to my office today and found the sticky note under some papers. Never write stuff on sticky notes and leave them at work without looking at your calendar... Good luck to all... I will be thinking about fishing...

To crazy on opening day, will be leaving on opening day (Saturday) for a 8 day fishing trip for browns on Lake Ontario

I will be hosting my opening day party at my fishing hole on Crooked. Morning is all about the kids and mid day is about the food and the afternoon beer and even some fishing. My favorite holiday!

Leatherwood Creek, couple hundred yards from the house. They usually put a few breeder palaminos in there, it's fun to watch the circus around those...

this will be the first year since i was about nine i won't be on a creek for the first day. i'll be in montana arriving in fort smith to fish the big horn with a fat cigar in my mouth!!   good luck to you all!

First day of Trout is a event, just like 1st. day of Deer. Great time to enjoy some time with family and friends. I have enjoyed it for many years, but in about the last 10 years, I have skipped it. I quess as I get older, the fun doesn't outweigh the nonsense. One really good thing about opening day, The guy's who get hammered and sleeping on the bank by 10 o'clock, might go out 1 more day and they are done for the year.  They buy a license and put money in the system for the rest of us.
My Wife said, if I go fish'n one more time, she'll leave me! God, I'm going to miss her!

i am taking my 5yr old son out for the first time for trout. we are going to go to a little crrek by the house and see if he can hook a couple. and he is really excited cause his godfather tastytrout got him his first rod 5'6 light action ugly stick with closed face reel. So once he gets hooked up i am going to sit back and watch him fight it all by himself. i really cant wait
REMEMBER HOW MUCH FUN YOUR FIRST BIG ONE WAS. TAKE A KID FISHING

Haven't gone out the last couple of years, but thinking about changing that this year. Buddy bought a camp in the ANF and thinking about trying somewhere near there. Currently got the atlas out and checking for streams just north of Marienville.
