i already have it.  he gets so excited to go out and about.  his godfather tastytrout got him and uglystick with a push button reel and tackle box for his birthday 2 days ago.  he cant wait to use it.  i promised him we would take his rod for opening day of trout, i just want to help him hook one and then let him fight it on his own.  a decent rainbow will put up a good fight for a 5yr old.  i cant wait

Went there this afternoon, worked on tossing the fly line. Didn't have any hits; everyone else I talked with wasn't having any luck either. Still a good way to end the weekend though

I think I saw you down by the cattails stright...I fished up and down the entire shoreline throwing cranks, buzz, spinner, plastic...you name it, I threw it. No Bass bite at all yesterday. I switched up gear and started fishing for crappie and it was on. Caught a nice 12" crappie near the dock and a bunch of smaller ones. Might go out today and see if hitting before that cold front comes thru...

yea, I went down past the playground fish in the one cove for awhile. Came up dry. I saw there was a group of about 4 or so guys down on the dock. Everyone doing well with the crappies?

Anyone thinking about Cross Creek Sunday morning? 80 degree weather and the shallows should be warmed up after the next 3 days in the 50-80 degree range. LMK and maybe we can hook up. I'll probably be over on the dock side in the shallow water if anyone wants to stop by and chat.

I'll be gone by 1-2pm...gotta see the final round of the Masters ya know!

Give me a wave on your way by...still need to get some $$$$ to get mine on the water. I'm probably looking at the beginning of May till I'm ready. Just in time for the Walleye season to begin!

Got out to Cross Creek at 9:00am this morning with my buddies lowe boat to check out before pymy next week..major squirrel and wire issues over winter. Put in water and noticed water coming in from somewhere, not the plug checked before launching...back on trailer to check out and found sections of the live well lines completely chewed through. One whole 12 in. section missing. No fishing today on the best day all year. Oh well. Darn squirrels. Buddy ready to explode. Hope you guys caught a boat load.

You didn't miss much. Got there at 8am and got into some crappie as soon as I got there...then it shut off. Didn't see anybody, boat or shore catching anything. Not sure how they did on the south end of the lake.

Got one hell of a sunburn though...

I did A LOT of paddling all over the lake, throwing everything including the sink at them...and nothing... only saw one boat pulling in crappies and the sizes didn't appear to be anything to write home about.

I got blanked today on cross creek on the bass. Threw everything I had at them probing where I thought the warmer coves would be. Wind was brutal

    CRAPPIE: Have you seen me???
How deep are they--if you're catchin' any? Weighing my options from shore--is it worth the trip, other than gettin' some much needed r&r?
