Oil Creek

Anybody doing any good in the delayed harvest area.  It was listed as stocked but not sure if it was or not.  Going to be in the area and I need to get out.  Thanks for any info.

The gauge says 1560 and it is not fishable until 600.

I have a question on the DHALO areas on Oil Creek.  You can fish now, even though fishing is prohibited elsewhere on the creek correct?   Also, how well marked are the Dhalo areas?    I know where the one starts at the two green posts at Drakes Well, but are there big signs where it ends?

I'd hate to get caught fishing in the wrong place out of season.   I was going to go up to trout camp a day or two early and try out the DHALO areas before the season starts.

There should be white signs posted at the beginning and end.I think it starts at the bridge in Petroleum Center and goes down to the rail road bridge above the dam(ice control).

I'm gonna fish more and work less.

I'm talking about the first DHALO area that starts at Drakes Well.  I know it runs like 1.1 miles or something, but I have no idea where it ends really.  Where it starts, there is no white sign.  Just two small green posts in the ground on one side of the creek hidden in the weeds.  It is VERY easy to miss, and if you are in the water it is impossible to spot unless you turn around and look at the shore behind you.  That is why I worry about fishing DHALO out of season.  I'd hate for the man to pick me up and hit me with a hefty fine.

The upper DHALO on Oil Creek runs from the green posts downstream to the suspension footbridge for the hiking trail. And you are right the signage is pretty hit and miss in that stretch.

I drove past Oil creek today and it's pretty blown out still.  Very high and muddy, moving way too fast to fish.  With the forecast for rain every day now thru Sunday, I think it's safe to assume the creek won't be very fishable for opening weekend.  I don't think I'll even head out until the following week sometime when the water level is finally below 900.
