AlumaCraft boats

Any one fished out of a 16' walk thru alumacraft. Buddy of mine has one for sale for $3000. Smaller boat for inland waters. I'm not at all familiar with these boats. Durability, comfort, ect.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.....thank you..Bing

Get up in it and feel it. Sit in it. Walk around in it. Test the steering. Does the tilt and trim work. Will he take you out for a test ride and if so after you put the boat back on the trailer and before you pull all the way up the ramp, pull the drain plug to see how much water it took on in the amount of time you were out. How did the motor run. Remember, you're getting a used boat. Don't expect new boat quality just because you're spending $3K. Good luck and i hope you get a good one.

What year is it Bings?  I have an '01 that is a tiller that I really like.  The reason I ask is that I believe in '02 they went to a 2X hull and mine is a 1X hull.  I love mine.  Mine is 16' 6".  Mine also had a seat recall, the joint in the seat is lousy, if his has already had that done or is older than that you might be alright.
