New Resident to PA looking for a fishing buddy

Hi everyone! I am a newbie to SW PA just north of Pittsburg in Freedom, PA. I’m 61 and looking for someone willing to take me under their wing and educate me about the great fishing in the area (looking for a fishing buddy). My background is primarily in saltwater fishing off the Texas gulf coast and a little trout fishing up in Wyoming. I grew up in southern Arkansas fishing the Ouachita River but that was 40 years ago so I am relearning freshwater river fishing. I moved here from Lakeview, Arkansas from the shores of Lake Bullshoals. I’m especially a smallmouth addict but not a purist as I enjoy just fishing and enjoying my time on the water.

I don't live or fish in that area paparock. You do live close to Lake Arthur and there's a whole forum in the SW PA board about that place. You also live right on the Ohio River but I don't know the slightest about that river.

You did the right thing though by finding this board. There are tons of people on here with a wealth of knowledge. Welcome!

first place i would tell you to go to is dashield lock and dam on the ohio. you can catch almost every kind of fish there and there are some real monsters. the beaver river is also a good spot. i dont do to much fishing out that way but on occasion i will hit dashields and i will pm you and let you know and maybe we can partner up.
welcome to the boards as well, you will find alot of info on here just be able to deal with the ppl who like to bust balls alittle usually it is all in good fun but some ppl get internet muscles

REMEMBER HOW MUCH FUN YOUR FIRST BIG ONE WAS. TAKE A KID FISHING

Some days it just doesn't pay to chew your way out of the restraints.

Eyeassassin and slimyrock thanks so much for the replies. I would love to meet and go fishing some time. I'm boatless right now; hopefully I will be changing that next year after everything from this move settles down.
