My best ever
  Caught this hog on Monday my biggest steel for sure on the fly rod. I released it for some one else to catch. Estimated 33 inches and over 10 lbs it was a brute.
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

WTG !! real nice !! After looking for a minute I cant help but notice how large the tail is. Almost makes me wonder if that fish was there in late october it would have had a bit more mass in the girth section and weigh around 15+. Congrats on a personal best  The Deetz

That fish took me to my backing and some, took about 20 mins to get him in i didn't want to horse him on 4 lb test. my buddy said i should of put it on the wall but i decided a picture is cheaper. he also guessed it weighed 14 lbs I didn't want to get greedy on the estimation.
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

A rule of thumb for a Steelies weight is......take the length and subtract 20....yours was 33" - 20 =13#....it works pretty close....the heavier in girth you have to go a little higher.
I got a very thick male last spring on Elk that was 35",my estimate was 16#...did n't weigh it,no camera and released it.

Nice fish! It seems as if once you get your first one thats over 10 pounds you seem to catch more after has anyone noticed that thread? And that fish does have a pretty big tail, they are the ones that seem to give the biggest fight
