I was there Thursday and it was still frozen but it was close to thaw. My pool in the backyard was frozen too but now its all thawed...wondering if the lakes have thawed now too. I was at the West Middletown access and only needed a few yards of open water. My guess is that it's open enough to fish some shoreline structure.

Anyone with a more recent update?

I was there today with open water as far as the eye can see. Still not 40 degrees tho. West Middletown access and fished from shore for an hour...didn't see any forage or large fish, no hits on jig/minnow but its boating time now.

    Hey Assassin,
I've chatted with you on various sites about Walleyes. You seem to be the walleye guy so I thought I'd ask you. I love fishing eyes but the only way I know to get them w/consistancy is trolling Arthur at summer sunset, and fishing shallows below Emsworth dam.

My boat isn't ready yet so I'm shore bound for a few more weeks. I've never fished the spring walleye bite but have been reading everything I can to catch up.

I was thinking about hitting Cross Creek hard this year and would like some advice. I'm thinking of going out for the final day and fishing the West Middletown access from shore. My pool water is finally above 40 degrees and I would think that with this warm rainwater pouring in all of those feeder streams, the shallows at CC are getting close to 40. Average temp for the next 4 days is about 40-42 degrees...is Sunday maybe the day to give it a try?

I got about 2 dozen minnows burnin a hole in my bucket and would love to try one last shot for one of those CC lunkers before its over...lmk what you think and even if you might be interested in going sometime this weekend...wife gave me the OK

That character can't catch walleye...after 25 years of fishing with him I can tell you that he snags everything....just kidding!

Went today looking for bass...water temperature was 39 to 41. Lake up about 2 1/2 to 3 feet. Stained, marked next to nothing on the depth finder. Wind didn't help matters either....lol Felt good to wet a line though, spent most of last year building my garage. Will defintely make up for it this year....

Fished W Middletown from shore 6pm-10pm Saturday night. No eyes (or anything for that matter) eating in the shallows yet. I think that the water is going below 40 at night and just getting over 40 during the day...still early I guess.
I floated minnow jigs over the weed line with one rod and casted every stick/crankbait I had over the entire area with the other. 3ft up to 15 ft divers with no luck.

There was another guy there too with no luck.

    Can't wait for warmer weather.
