Evinrude Etec or 4stroke Yamaha?

Thank you for everyones input under the boat dealer advice post. I have currently moved away from tracker because of all the negativity surrounding them, and have made my decision on the Alumacraft 175 Navigator Sport. I am negotiating with 3 dealers. One is a Evinrude dealer. One is a Yamaha dealer, and lastly a Suzuki dealer from VA. I am leaning toward the Evinrude or the Yamaha. I have found some negativity around the internet surrounding the Evinrude E-tec. On the other hand it is hard to find anyone talking negative about a 4 stroke yamaha. Anyone have some thoughts on the two? Lastly my two dealers are S and H Marine and Clearshade. Both seem like stand up dealers. Any thoughts or expieriences with the two dealers?

    Go with the Yamaha.

Can't complain about Yamaha too much, do have a late model 50hp four stroke for sale with 100 hours on it if you know anyone looking...

I would have to say Yamaha as well, but keep in mind where you are going to have major service work done near you. Make sure there is a good reputable Yammie technician to be had. The biggest problem with the Evinrudes is the lack of qualified technicians...at least in my neck of the woods. The four stroke Yamahas are supposed to be bulletproof...I know my 9.9 4s kicker on my old boat was.

price, warranty will probably make the decision for you. The mix oil you have to use with the etec is pricey, one jug almost lasts me a season though. doesnt use alot of gas is the trade-off.
