ohio walleye

at any point in time of the yr is walleye closed in ohio. i cant find anything about it

    Lake Erie and its Tributaries Lake Erie and its Tributaries to the First Dam or Designated Landmark These regulations below apply to the Ohio waters of Lake Erie, its embayments including Maumee Bay, Sandusky Bay, East Harbor, Middle Harbor, and West Harbor, and tributaries to the first dam or designated landmark as follows: Vermillion River-St. Rt. 2 bridge; Black River-St. Rt 611 bridge; Rocky River-Detroit Rd. bridge; Cuyahoga River-Harvard Rd. bridge; Euclid Creek, Chagrin River-St. Rt. 283 bridge; Arcola Creek, Wheeler Creek, Cowles Creek, Indian Creek-U.S. Rt. 20 bridge; Grand River-St. Rt. 535 bridge; Conneaut Creek-Main St. (downtown Conneaut) bridge; Ashtabula River-E. 24th St. bridge. All "statewide" regulations apply to Ohio waters of Lake Erie except for those listed below:
    Lake Erie Walleye and Yellow Perch Limits
    Lake Erie Walleye and Yellow Perch Limits: Daily limits will be set on May 1 each year. Prior to that time, regulations from the previous season will apply. A special publication announcing current limits for walleye and yellow perch will be available at wildlife district offices and license outlets beginning in April. The updated limits will also ve announced through a statewide news release and posted on the Division of Wildlife Web site.

    The following 2010 season limits for walleye and yellow perch will continue to apply ONLY until May 1, 2011.
    Walleye 6- (May 1 - last day in February)
    4- (March 1 - April 30)
     15 inches Yellow Perch 30 - (west of the Huron Pier)
    30 - (east of the Huron Pier)
     None

    Keep in mind these may be subject to change on May 1st 2011 - begins OH's new 2011-2012 license year . I would check back then to ensure nothing has changed .

    but that doesnt answer the question on lakes like tappan,salt fork, senaca, and bear creek lakes i read a about how there walleye populations are really good and quality size but there is nothing about a closed season or a first day

    It's open year round : )

    Some areas DO NOT have a minimum size for walleye as other areas do so make sure you look each area up ...
