Will Gas for Fish

Hello All,

I am getting stir crazy with this cold weather and starting to look towards spring fishing.  Therefore, reaching out to see if any enthusiasts are looking for another experienced fisherman to join them and assist with associated gas, equipment, etc. costs.  Let me know....

Will gas for fish? "Help with associated gas"?? Experienced fisherman?? Man if you're anything like my friends and gas, and the gas I experience with them, you can stay home!

I'm with you on the cabin fever thing. I'm not a steelheader and can't wait for spring... I'm sure someone here will hook you up. Good luck!

I love cats. I just can't eat a whole one..

I am in Pittsburgh, rides are not an issue.  I am talking more equipment/gas to get out on the water and potentially be put on some fish come warmer weather.

You will find several of us are glad to take folks along when we have room.

One piece of advice though, when you pitch in for gas pay attention to what the boat owner has to put in. I've taken guys before that ride all the way up with me, watch me put $80-$100 worth of fuel in the truck and $30-$70 worth of fuel in the boat then hand me a $20 when we're done, needless to say they don't get invited back too often. Not saying that they need to pay for the whole trip, but...

I've aso had guys try to give me too much, my rule of thumb is I won't take more than half of what it costs me.

OMG bulldog, your friends actually give you money to help out with expenses? Where you find these kind of friends at? I actually had to bribe my brother once. Told him " No cheddar, and you aint takin no fish home ". Ended up getting that WHOLE $20 you were talking about.

Besides family and close friends, I usually go with and take guys that have their own rigs. Typically no exchange of money at all, just shared/swaped trips. Works out well even though I'm always willing to take folks out in the event that we have room. Looking forward to it this year. Hopefully you guys been prayin' to the wind and waves gods of Erie!

I know some guy's that are tight with the cash! When I have been out with other friends, I alway's pay my way. If there are a couple of us with the boat owner, I try to get them to split the gas, etc. leaving the boat owner out. They just don't get it. I spent more on my Anchor Winch than they will spend all year on their recreation. They are going to go out all day with friends and spend alot less than if the got a Charter. Of course they will get more fish with the Charter, than with me. I take out some family members- nephews- a couple of neighborhood kid's, etc. and never expect or let them pay.

My Wife said, if I go fish'n one more time, she'll leave me! God, I'm going to miss her!
