New wader here

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!

I decided to pick up my first pair of chest waders and decided to go with breathable ones from Dicks Sporting goods. They are the Pro Stream and Field chest waders and I bought them in a size medium. I tried the larges on but they seemed huge and baggie on me. BUT the neo-foot booties felt more comfortable. I went with the medium because they seemed to fit better over-all but I am wondering a few things. Should I have went with the size large just in case I need to double up on socks? I  do not fish in the bitter cold and most of my fishing is early spring to late fall. That is why I choose the medium, since I rarely fish in the cold and would still be able to layer if needed. I wear a size 10 shoe and the large said max shoe size of a 12.5. The medium said a max of 9.5. So my big toe is touching the medium sized waders booties with a normal pair of socks on. I just want to be sure since this is my first pair. Thanks for the replies in advance.

+1 The more room the better blood flow to your feet. I would have went bigger if it was me.
