Bruce - beautiful as always. The tinsel work and taper on the body is perfect - as is everything else.... Can't wait to see the finish. Qustion for ya - At what point do you switch from the GSP thread to the black? The last one I tied I used the white the whole way till the end - I know at the Somerset show I saw some tiers switch after they get up past the body and other used it the entire way. And I didn't forget about you - I'll be in touch about the webcam thing.

I switch over after the body is completed. I only use the heavy stuff for underbody then switch over to 70 Denier white UTC thread. Tied throat and underwing with black sharpie. Then changed to white and highlighted with a red sharpie

The base layer of thread is 70 Denier UTC, white(highlighted black sharpie) in the Gut area. Once base layer is complete its time to build the underbody which is any flat waxed heavy thread white.such as Danvilles flymaster plus or 210 denier, buld the taper desired and proceed with tail and work forward.

Well I finally finished fly a few days ago. I didn't have red thread so I hit the white with a red sharpie, problem? When I apllied multiple coats of head cement, (alcohol based ), made the red bleed into the gut, Oh well, the throat is off anyway, time for the razor You really have to tie daily when messing with the classics, which I don't have the disipline to pull off.
