Fair enough. Agreed, the scale could be off.

In keeping with the spirit of the thread;
here's one more pic of the alpha male & one they they got the previous week along with the hounds.

Was checking for a place to muzzle hunt and came across several yote tracks.
May have to see if I can crack one. Spotted one there the last day but thought it was a deer
and was gone before my buddy came over to me and said he booted it out of a brush pile. Big tracks.

I don't know that tull. Thanks for pointing that out, wouldn't want to mislead anyone.
It was an educated guess, a hypothesis if you will.
Does everything typed on the internet need to be backed by irrefutable evidence, or are opinions ok too?

Would this have been better;
"In keeping with the spirit of the thread, here's one more pic of, what I suspect to be, the alpha male..."

Actually, I just typed it how I did for you to question.
Keep up the good work.

I hunted coyotes for about 6 years when I lived in CA and killed maybe 30-40 a year.  My largest was 34#.   I have no idea how much the big old black one weighed but it is a hoss and I can easliy believe 60 on him.  I can say one thing for sure those dogs sure don't look like anything we shot out west.  They look more like wolves.

those giant coyotes in pa do have a % of wolf in them. it seems like most of them are killed in the northern counties. all the ones down here in fayette weigh 30# to 35# with a couple maybe leaching 40#. all the coyotes that win the big contest are all killed up north.
