Shenango Lake

Anyone been on Shenango yet hows the ice and are the fish hungry????

    Been out on the far east end of the lake, ice 4'to 5'. Current under ice very fast in and around the old river channel thus ice is thinner over this area. Be careful! Drilled about 40th holes, depth from 3ft to 18ft, and looked around with camera.... pretty much looked like the surface of the moon.... no fish. I'm going to head west today. About a dozen guys on the ice last night out from the boat launch at Goldenrod.

    Open water this morning over river channel at east end of lake... be careful because it looks like it is continuing to open up to the west so there probably is thin ice over the channel towards RT 18. Current in open area is fast, I would guess the outflow at the dam is high.
