how much snow at elk, the mile streams

hey friends, how much snow do you all have up there? todays my birthday and my only wish was to fish for some chrome the hub wants to go to burt dam, 18 mile ny, anyone have any reports of that area?

I went by Elk yesterday morning and the big hole at McKean is starting to freeze over.  It looked there was some edge ice along the sides of the stream as it flowed under the bridges.  With the temp's in the 20's it should not be too long before the streams freeze over.

The snow has shutdown for a little while, but they are calling for brutally cold temperatures in the teens and single digits early next week with snow kicking in again on Sunday. 

based on the webcam at uncle johns, it doesnt look to be more than 4-6 inches of snow on the banks BUT the water has a lot of slush floating in it

it wasnt bad this weekend. an inch of snow at burt but it snowed the past few days. Water is muddy like it normally is in the winter. My brother and I fished in the afternoon for a few hours fishing was slow i landed 1 steel head and my brother landed 2. There wasnt any slush floating in the water when I was there over the weenend just foam from the water going over the dam.

Along the lake shore there is much less snow than there is inland, but the temperatures are the thing now.  It may warm up to freezing Saturday, but back down into the deep freeze for next week.  The snow will also kick in again Sunday and Monday so I would imagine with the cold temps and snow, slush will be a major problem.
