Keep poking Bing... you'll be never reach... this thread started on a serious Note and someone took it off track. The only reason I asked so many times was Because I saw jkh avoid the question many times. He then had to redeem himself by blabbering his nonsense that he thinks is funny and maybe some others.Its easy for you to add fuel to the fire. I think your fuel is alittle late and a little weak. Why don't you go shoot 20 cotton tails before noon tomorrow. :)

Dullpenny, What the he11 are you smoking ???

You should go back and read you're PETA handbook....

Does making your flies look as if they are chasing each other make them work better? I'll have to try that.

C'Mon Drake!  You're a guide!  Haven't you ever heard of the "Trico Rut"!?!?!?

Ironhed

I can't find any info about it. I even googled it. Maybe dimebright could tell me more.

During the peak of the "trico rut" I have had excellent
success with a Hayabusa Sabikiâ„¢ Bait Rig.

Six hooks of course!
Though they don't really chase one another.
Lol!

I used to use orange strike putty until I realized powerbait floats. Now I just use orange powerbait for an indicator. I call them power indicators. Using them in conjuction with a two fly rig that looks as if the two flies are chasing each other is deadly.

Hope that helps.

hey trans... in my opinion i don't think color of strike indicator makes a difference, it's more approach and presentation and placement of indicator based on water type being fished...and yes a dropper, tandem, or "CHASER" rig can produce results as well. just check your local stream regulations first...if color is a concern for you try white or black with maybe a bright dot in the middle... good luck

Tranny, I forgot to mention that my rig could look like the two flies are chasing the powerbait... I just depends on how i'm fishing it.

In all seriousness, I prefer white because it mimics the color of the foam created by the water.

You probably shouldn't waste your time giving "transive" (aka: Jim Halupka) a serious answer.

i go by what the sky color is. on bright days i'll use white.
blue sky= blue
overcast= gray
under pines= green

other than that these work;
a #10 march brown works well in march
a #12 mayfly works well in may
a #8 june bug in june
in october a well tied october caddis will work on big waters

with spooky fish i use a cork indicator i made and buy from trader horn. looks like a chunk of cork flaoting down stream.

I prefer to tie my own gill nets out of 6# floro with some thingamabobbers to help it float and a good bit of lead to make sure it gets to the bottom. Make sure to use segar, it's a little spendy but worth it!

When I am not running that rig, I just keep a close eye on my leader loop (flo orange) and watch what it's doing...... no indicators for me....
