Rt 79 closure 12/4

Noticed that there are flashing signs from Cranberry to milepost 99 that the road will be closed form 11 (I think) till 5 am on 12/4 if your planning on heading north to Erie. Warnings were on both north bound and south bound lanes.

I have no idea if there is another detour that would not add a lot of time to the trip but if your going up you might want to check ahead of time

Honestly heading north no I'm not positive but coming south it was the 4th on the sign. I was kinda like you at 4:30 in the morning, not fully awake going north.

What confused me even more was for some reason I thought this coming Saturday was the 3rd.  Hopefully someone will know for sure. Just hoping not to have someone run into an unplanned situation.

You can hope onto 19, and circumvent pretty much any section(s) of 79. Without excessive added time.

I saw it too, and I swear it said 12/5- at least N bound... and 2 weeks ago.
Of course, zero information on Penn DOT website.

Thanks all for the clarification. Still blows my mind that there is NOTHING on PennDOT's website about this. Probably shouldn't, but it does.
