True, I saw a big bellied male like that get caught at 20 mile
the other day. I told the guy - lotta skein, then saw the hooked jaw.

I always look at the mouth first to see if it is a male or female.  I guess I am a "mouth" guy, but some seem to look at the belly so I guess they are "belly" guys...  I know this will spark some interesting comments....  Any tail fella's out there???  How 'bout the fin guys....

i usually refer to mouth as well... but when a belly is so large as this fishs was, and the second pic in the original post kinda hides the jaw with the green grass in the background... the belly took the cake to say the least.

I bet it was over 15. I have seen 3 fish in the 15 range, all had girth and the longest was 34 1/2". It was 15' 4oz. Biggest Erie fish I saw was 36" and fat, don't know what it weighed.
