sugar lake pickerel

fished sugar lake for a little bit before the game sunday.  my dad and i each caught pickerel, one of which was at least 21".  also caught a big largemouth.  fish caught on swimbaits,  i read the 2007 PFBC biologist report & it said pickerel have shown up in their testing.  anybody else catching these in sugar?

Almost came down myself Denny, was wishing I was fishing.
Yeah, I've got a few pickerel out of there now.
First one, I thought was a small northern, but was corrected by someone on the board here.
I could definitely see the difference once it was pointed out. Pic...

Seems like in the spring you can catch them all day long at sugar. Also, backtrack up from the lake to the outflow(s). Many pickeral ended up on the grill this spring from the swamplands. There are some decent 3-4 pounders in there.

On another note with sugar...anyone else caught bowfin out of there this year ? I caught a couple mosters around the outflow this summer ! The one must have been 7-8 LBS.
