If swinger is a true, elitist swinger... he is not a lifter.
I pin for trout with 8'6''-9 ft. rod and love it... waiting for green flow to pin for steel. not to mention, my friends seem to enjoy excluding me from trips lately.

should he judge me on the gear i own, i wouldn't want much to do with him anyway. Would prob. swing up just as many fish as he if we worked a section together.
