-1 Shooter!!!
Been a slow start to the season for me. I have yet to see a buck during shooting hours.
Then this morning I picked a nice stand between a bedding area and the nicest patch of whites I know. About,6:35 I hear a loud crash on the road about 200 yards away followed by screeching brakes.
At about 7:10 a doe and a single fawn showed up coming from that direction.
When I got down and left later in the morning I found a 19 1/2 inch wide 7 point (2.5 y/o) with lots of character and mass, lying along side the road.
In talking to the landowner, he went out when he heard the accident. The driver of the 2009 f-150 said that it was with a doe and a single fawn.
His engine was pushed back through the firewall of the truck.
-1 shooter in that spot.
Better too far back, than too far forward.
