Pymy Perch

Rented a boat @ Jamestown and really got into the perch this a.m.  Anchored about 150 feet off the dam and caught at least 3 dozen perch in 14 FOW - 19 of them were keepers between 8 - 12 inches.  Boat Livery posted a water temp of 58 degrees.  I remember Rap saying what a beautiful area this is - today with the leaves near peak colors that place truly is a treasure.  Also had the same smallie try to kill my swimbait on consecutive casts.  Never boated the fish but it had to be at least 20 inches.

How's the crappie bite going there? I'm heading up that way in the morning. Hope it doesn't rain.

my rental boat didn't have a depth finder making it tough to find structure so no crappies.  from what i've heard if you fish structure in 15 FOW you'll find them holding a foot off the bottom.  go get 'em chauncy!

Thanks Denny. I didn't get your message in time so i just went to a few of the spots i've fished earlier in the season. Did alright considering the wind wouldn't let me sit on the crappie spots over the deeper water. I caught 9 keepers before i moved to get out of the wind. Found a shallow weedline and the perch and gills were there. Hope to get back this week to try the deep brush again.

fished all over the lake on saturday.  ended up doing well for perch down by the dam.  caught 22 keeper perch and threw back just as many small ones in the afternoon.  it was nice having a depth finder today so i could mark some structure for the hard-water season.

Fished on Sunday morning, launched at the end of the road and headed south.  Couldn't do much because of the wind, marked a few in the channel, but the wind forced us back north behind an island, got a few dink perch...
