I didn't see a deer

First day of archery, I didn't see any deer. I blame the game commission.

I didn't see any fish either, come to think of it. Now I blame the fish commission as well.

I think Walmart has glasses on sale. Remember, we are 10 years older than when we last saw lots of deer. Probably it's just the old eyes giving out.---------------------------I was just going through my diary and in 1974 on the first day in 2F I had 16 deer within 35 yards throughout the day of which 14 were bucks and I killed the fourth largest which was a 10 point. This year I saw a doe and 2 fawns. My hunting skills must be regressing.

Reports over the week-end at work were pretty good. seems most of the bucks moving were the smaller ones ??

    LOTS of turkeys..

Only one kill that I heard of and it was a big doe.

Many saw deer but were not in the right place for a good shot.. too far..

I worked out a deal with the owner of a archery shop in Kittaning for a crossbow, he'll deliver it when he comes to camp next this Saturday.. can't wait..

looks like steelhead fishing just got pushed to the back-burner ..

Many in this area had short hunts too in the morning. It was 34 degree here Saturday morning and several told of not dressing warm enough when they left for the woods...

Nah, it cant be that. It must be the fault of the PGC. Even tho my glasses are as thick as the bottom of an old returnable soda bottle, and even tho I dont wear them in the woods because I'm afraid sunlight reflecting off of them might spook a deer or start a forest fire, I still think the more reasonable cause of the problem is the game commission.

You know, the more I think about it you are no doubt correct. It is the game commissions fault. I didn't think so at first but your well researched case, intellegently presented, with facts and figures have convinced me that it is the Blame Commission and only the Blame Commission that is responsible for the lack of deer. Thank you for helping me see the light.
