That's a good video but it doesn't show you how to close them.

I think i got them figured out.You got to put slight pressure on them while pushing up.I really like the design of the t3's except the clips but once you get them you got it.Will rage 2 blades open in flight out of an x-bow?

they shouldnt, there is a chance of everything but as long as you have them snug under the little rubber ring they arent supposed too. thats the fastest video i found, i was hoping it led you an idea hwo to close them, i never saw those before but looks like you have to push the head down and fold the blades back.

I know a dealer pretty well that tests everything he sells.  He does not recommend Rages out of crossbows because of the blades opening up.  I know many guys use them but I won't.

The trick to th rages is to add a small orthodontic rubber band around the center of the blades.. x-guns and my bow both have problems with them opening in flight.

Mine will not open in flight on a brand new o ring, but from the second shot on there is a chance of it, (about 40% of the time) so at the advice of a local archery shop I have added a small orthodontic rubber band on the outside of the blades just rearward of the center of the head. Haven't had another open yet.

Better too far back, than too far forward.

so not hating just sayin, i guess its not a slip cam broadhead if you have to add a rubberband. cant that o ring be replaced though? i really never messed around with replacing blades, i'd rather just use brand new all the time.

Maybe it has something to do with the training wheels that crossbows and compounds share.  Be interesting to see under slow motion when exactly the blades are opening.

How do you know they are opening in flight?  I believe I've asked this question before.

I opened just 1 blade and shot them, opened both blades and shot them.  The results were no different.  They both hit as if they were never opened.

I can only speak on their use in crossbows but the blade or blades were hitting the foot stirrup on that particular crossbow.  Led me to believe that they were opening at the instant of acceleration.

Severe planing and poor arrow flight when they open. I actually glued an old one shut and it shoots perfect every time just like the practice heads.

Gotta be a difference in how our bows are setup, eh?  What do you think?
Mine fly no differently opened or closed.
I like the idea of gluing them shut for practice heads.  Gonna have to try that.

    Ironhed,

What kind of KE is your bow producing? Or speed and arrow weight. I never had this problem with them with my old setup. And it's not a problem anymore since I added the small keeper bands.

You need to trim the back of the blades to make them pull out of the target if you glue them shut.

Might be that I just have really bad form. Don't forget, I have been a release shooter now for all of 3.5 weeks. Most likley tuning. I was shooting a real nice paper punch, then had to adjust the rest to meet the limitations of the old sight I used.
