The paper this morning said the river crested at 33, second to the mid 80's when it hit 35. Don't know if that included the runoff going downstream from the dam.
It was still very high and looked like coffee when I left at 3pm today. Never fished for 2 days ,just raked leaves and chased turkeys, didn't look like fun to me. Couldnt believe the guys fishing in the Altmar parking lot when the water finally got below the road. When I crossed the only bridge left Fri. am water was only inches from the road on the Conservation HQ side.
Pressure on the feeders was insane. Hundreds of guys lined up a few feet apart and cars parked everywhere. Too bad because they were really cleaning up on the salmon today. I'm sure the fish were BITING well with that pressure. 3 years from now may not fare well with natural repro. because of the numbers removed on those streams.
Feel bad for the folks who's homes and businesses were flooded. Hope no one got hurt like those fishermen in Oswego last week.
Next week we will all be looking for new rocks and runs cause its very likely the ones we knew are changed around. Good Luck.
