Report: Walnut, Legion, Girard, Elk Access

Couple words, If the people beside you don't speak english, find a new spot.  Anyways, started at walnut at 8 caught about 10 there above Manchester, lots of fish in the morning but alot were taken out. Putted around for awhile had some lunch took a ride to Legion, saw a couple fish but not many at all. Drove over to Girard a few fish around there but still not many, Elk Access has fish but also has people, only fished for about 30 minutes at each of those spot. Went back to walnut around 3. Caught about 5 more or so and left around 5:30. Water is back to being low..Walnut is low, Elk has a semi decent slow but both creeks are coming down pretty fast. Took my buddy with me who never really steellhead fished.. he is still yet to catch one lol rough day for him.. PM if you want a picture or if you got any questions.. Eman

I know what he was doing wrong. Fishing with someone more interested in putting fish on his line than his buddy's line. Just saying.

Way to show that you know nothing about fishing, there, ace.

Buddy of mine has been going to Erie for 2 full seasons now, has yet to land one. Why? Because he never fishes for trout through the year, or fly fishes at all (spinning for bass), so he doesn't know how to drift, and when you try to help him out, he will do it right for about 5 minutes then goes back to whatever he was doing. Can't drift FOR him, can only try to help him out.

He's finally starting to get the hang of it this year.

Nice job Ed. Sweet to get a brown. :)
I,ve had days where I couldn,t get a hit and my bud would be pulling them in and vice versa.
    Weird when that happens.

Tough sport to catch on to if you don't trout fish.  When I first started in was so frustrating.  My goal was to just hook a fish.  Once that was accomplished the goal was to land one.  And then to catch three.  And so on.  Tell you friend to keep the faith.

Steelhead requires a knack like any other fishing. Some of you guys make it look and sound so easy. Glen....Bings.....Etc.
Hey Glen, it's october. Where's your pics of the steak beer and steelhead??? I need recharged!!! If I took a buddy and he didn't catch one sure I'd feel bad, but when I first started, I got skunked too even with great coaching. Hopefully, he'll come back. It is funner to fish with a bud.

Just curious as to why you made that comment? Did it bother you that you could not understand what they were saying, was the sound of another language very annoying or did they actually do something to offend you or cause problems for you??

Oh the non english people. Well first off, the first guy snagged two and tried to put them on stringers because i said something.. He finally left and then two more guys came and everytime you hooked a fish they wouldn't reel in. Then if you did land the fish you would turn around to take the fish off and they jumped right into your spot. Very frusterating!

i had 3 of those guys by me last week at the log phile. a couple of my fish went rite over there lines after me yelling fish on, and comen down. they just sat there like they didnt understand english. they finally reeled in and my fish was just about tuckered out and was in front of them. it wasnt going any where, and those guys stood up at the same exact time, walked closer to the water and casted rite over my line. if my fish went back out for another run i was cutting their line. finally after i hooked a couple more they left.

Pics will be coming soon. Still working to get ready for vacation time. Usually take tools out and put grill in by Nov. 1st at the latest. Had the grill ready for Swinger Sat. & Sun. but the creek blew out. If he comes , it will be muskies with Bob. Can't get excited about the little creeks yet.
As far as hooking fish, some days your buddy is hot and you can't get a bite. It evens out later.   Nice pics Eman

at the conrail tubes back in 1994 three russians had at least 20 plus steel on one giant length of closeline wondering how they hauled them out of there ....thats like 160 lbs of fish lol lol might as well drag a deer
