    side notes on hunt-
    type of stand-api climber
HEIGHT- 9-maybe 10 foot. for all of you wondering on "how high" or "how low it too low" i said it before in another post, the right set up is better then 20 foot up
equipment-diamond black ice bow, easton aluminum arrows, trophy ridge wolverine 3 blade 75grains broadheads.

around 5:50 pm two bucks came in, first one was a 3-4 or a 5 point..mine came right behind him..stopped at 17 yards.
drew back sitting down(first time i shot sitting down), pass thru shot, he bucked and took off after he ran about 20 i "bah'ed" and slowed down and walked away, went about another 80 yards and died in the cut soy bean feild where the pictures were taken and thats my truck in the background, couldnt ask for an easier drag so to speak even though i drove to him. although it wasn't bad at all in the first place.

as you can see where the shot is, it double lunged him and hit the sliced the heart. he never bled out the nose. when i feild dressed him the whole chest was filled still and the lungs collapsed. blood trail was poor for the first 30-40 yards, i cut out of the woods(the woods is only 20 yards wide where i was tracking him and he wasnt in there...) and saw him dead in the feild about 40 yards from where i left the blood trail. back tracked him alittle ways and saw the blood would have got better if i would have kept following.

thanks everyone!. lol ya "great way to end the year "i like that.. i have one spot in mahoning county to deer hunt in to whom ever asked that...

mika i would not say this deer is anywhere close to 240 even on the hoof...my guess is around 140-150 feild dressed on a scale. 3 years ago i shot an 8 point there it went 196 on the button on my scale. this deer does not compair in body size at all.
i use a trophy ridge broadhead, called woverine 3p, 75 grain. started using them i wanna say 7 years ago, best broad head i've used..im sure rage are better so to speak, but they are awfully pricey. Never head malfunctions never lost a deer either really. i've only hit 3 deer that i have not got and all my fault, two in the shoulder blade(dont care what kinda poundage you shoot, or broadhead, your odds of getting a deer smacking that shoulder blade are slim to none), and one too far back...all when i was younger..kinda blame that on self error and not experienced alot about shooting at deer with a bow. got too nervous, rattled or something...HOPE that never happens, but its hunting, im sure it might...thats about the only thing i pray for when trying to harvest an animal, to recover it and not wound it.

lol well in all honesty its the farms house where i hunt his sits way back out in the feild, ohio land is laid out weird to me. huge feilds, lil woods, hardly any houses but if there are they surround a feild kinda or just one house out in the middle of the feild. but like just square huge plots of land formed from roads i dunno. get a map of an ohio county i think you'll know what im trying to say.

Would he be any deader if you had used Rage broadheads? Or, would your wallet just be a bit lighter? Shot placement > broadhead brand IMO.

ha funny you ask, cuz another guy was like wait you dont use rages?...

but i mean you see my shot..i dont think a rage woulda made him more dead..i mean rages are 5 dollars more its not that much more, but since i really have used that broadhead before rages, my bow is really tuned great with what i have, i dont feel like changing.

on a side not mika, we just quartered him today, he weighed out at 152. so im guessing around 180 live weight.

i had him in a cooler just to clarify that i wasnt leaving him hang outside. lol
