Wilhelm fall bass?

Whats the bass fishing like here this time of year? Are the weeds dead yet? Is it worth it to go back into the stump area, or are all the weeds gone??

Any advice/help would be great!

jf, i don't fish wilhelm, but do fish pymy and mosquito in the fall. simply, we use floating rapalas and small, shallow-diving shadraps on points and off of islands and do pretty well. with us, hard bottoms produce better.

i havnt made it up to wilhelm in a few weeks now but from the years past ive never had much luck back in the stumps even the last few trips ive made up with my dad we had better luck on the points and drops than the weeds. Most had slime covering them.

Wind dominated me when I was out on tuesday, Managed a few fish, but nothing solid. Fished all around ramp 3, up to rt 79 with only 1 fish to show for it. Fished the old roadbed near causeway, caught a couple, but wind was killing my battery.

I went down to ramp 4 and fished the entire area near there without a bite. Overall, very disappointing day. Hope to get back out there sat. afternoon. Lake goes off-limits monday for my club's championship. I REALLY need to figure something out sat....wish me luck

Wilhelm is not my favorite fall lake for bass fishing. Have never been able to figure anything consistent out there in the fall. Summer patterns are dead and the stuff that works in the spring doesn't work in the fall. Seems to me that in general the bass bite at Wilhelm has been slow since late July. Those fish take a pounding during the summer. The SM at Pymy should be starting to tear it up.

After this week, I'll spend the rest of my season chasing smallies on shenango....they are starting to feed good right now and will be active until there is too much ice on lake to take my boat out! I'm headed to wilhelm tomorrow afternoon/evening. Gonna try near the dam, never been down on that end before. I usually stay near ramp 3 or the stumps. I'll let ya know how I do.

Shenango is my favorite fall lake. Heading there this afternoon with a friend. Water level is a little lower than normal this time of year. Good luck at your club classic at Wilhelm. We fish two clubbies there a year. Last one was in mid-Sept and it was a very tough bite. Extreme wind didn't help that day either.

How was shenango?? I launched out of ramp 1 near the dam, and don't think I'll spend any time there again. I'm gonna try to get out one last time and try the upper end of wilhelm. I fishw/ an electric only club, so whatever ramp we start with, we are commited to that area. Ramp 3 looks or the ramp at the logboom is prob. where I'm gonna launch out of.

Windy and fishing was surprisingly tough on Friday. My buddy caught a nice striper and we managed a bunch of white bass which were fun to catch but only 3 green bass made it in the boat and none of them would have kept. Probably could have caught more if we slowed down and flipped but we weren't in the mood for that so we stuck with the faster moving stuff.

The smallies should be starting to turn on on shenango. I plan on spending some time there next week during the week. Heard there was a tourney on sunday on wilhelm and it took over 16lbs to win, there was also supposedly a 15# and 14.5# bag. I can't buy a bite. Rumor has it they were fishing lower end of lake near dam, but I don't have any spots or confidence there...so I'm hoping the weeds are too dead out of 3 and near upper end. Wish me luck! If you see a Blue Gambler bassboat on shenango, stop by and say hello.
