Martinis at the wall huh? Oddly enough, I walk and wade and still manage to sit down on a rock or bank and have some coffee and a little bite to eat when I fish. Thats right, you can still have a hot drink AND wade fish!

by all means enjoy your martini at the wall, it's still a free country (sort-of). I'll be getting my thrills up-stream when my reel goes "ZING!" with a silver bullet at the end of line taking off on hellish runs and heavenly leaps. fish on the reel is one of the greatest sounds I've ever heard

went to the wall sunday just for kicks and i couldnt believe how many people had tackle boxes filled with nothing put powerbait cans. Orange was the "hot" color yesterday. Seen more hookups above the wall though.

Handicap and under 12 is what would be nice.  BTW about the lines......if someone doesn't move their line when I come in I aim for it.  Then if it's in my prop when I pull out I know where to find you.

At least those warm, cozy "wal-nuts" will have a chance to lye down their rod and take a sip of warm coffee or a martini.

Martini? Seriously? How does one reel in a line with their pinky extended?

So quit complaining or just quit fishing! You non-intelligent dumb-****e$ that wade in 3" of water are the ones we should laugh at!!!

warm and cozy? the only time I get cold while fishing is when I'm sitting in one spot. getting out there and walking around keeps you warm.
and walnut access has to be the least relaxing place that I have ever tried to fish...

Honestly, you all crack me up!!!

I am an avid fisherman and I read this forum daily. I decided to join this morning just because you all are a bunch of COMPLAINERS! Every fall season, you complain and bicker about "wal-nuts" yet you all love to catch them steelies just like everyone else. Honestly, just suck it up and go out and fish whether it is on walnuts wall or wading up stream. We all love the sport and really does it matter where we fish or what we use to fish (fly or spin).

I know there is going to be sarcasm with this post but you all need to look in the mirror and get real. Don't cry if the "wal-nuts" are catching a majority of the fish that sooner or later will end up stream. They might be a little skittish by the time they see your flies or offerings but think of it this way...you are the "dumb-****e$" that are going to wade in frigid water trying to catch and release a fish. At least those warm, cozy "wal-nuts" will have a chance to lye down their rod and take a sip of warm coffee or a martini. Get over yourselves! We fish to relax and enjoy the sport! So quit complaining or just quit fishing! You non-intelligent dumb-****e$ that wade in 3" of water are the ones we should laugh at!!!

island,

You might be able to catch the steelheads like the "big boys", but I for one agree that it would be a great thing to reserve the Wall, or part of the wall/marina for kids and handicapped.

why would you go with an 8 and 10 year old kid, with a sometimes erratic cast?  The Wal-nuts should be more accomdating of kids.  They are the future of fishing.  A big steelhead will be something my kids remember for a long, long time.  A great experience between my daughter, son and me.

But squeezing into the circus, isn't going to be easy.

You chide us for being elitest, but isn't there something crazy and comic about half of Erie clogging up a small marina?  Your hostility towards people that wade is bizarre.  Just sayin'

You guys all know that if they made the wall for kids and handicaps only you would have people abuse it .. People would bring a wheel chair just to fish on the wall. It won't happen just leave it the way it is if you're a fisherman you will be in the creeks anyways

...and as a sportsman I will yield it to someone who needs it. But there are days when the back, leg, and hip are not  working well enough for me to walk four miles of creek that I may be a fisherman from bank or the wall.

They could have shut down the north wall to fishing permanantly when they changed the parking and launching setup. That is, if they thought it was a problem with the channel flow, boating, and fishing. They didn't and don't tho. No fatalities so far, so no problem. Hope it doesn't get to that, ever.
