I'm not a PETA person, but

I sorta feel sorry for the non-stop beatings, lashings, bashings, and linings that the Steel Inhabitants of the LFZ will face come dawn tomorrow.

if you feel sorry for any fish, you should not be fishing at all. how nice is it to rear your hook in to a fishes mouth when all that fish was doing was trying to survive. it's fishing. do your best; ignore the rest... report to DEC if you feel bothered by someone's fishing practice... just a thought...look at what salt water guys do with bunker. they snag them with trebles so they can use them for bait. isn't a life a life. what makes a bunkers quality of life lower than any other fish? just a thought; but somewhat of a good point...

It's a blood sport. This is life & death. Up there not so one sided sometimes.

Oh, I agree that fishing is basically a blood sport where we stab a fish in it's face so we can get a chub-on.

But it still makes me wonder why the LFZ does not have music piped in via underwater speakers to put the fish at ease (IMO the appropriate choice would be the Sonny & Cher song that woke up Bill Murray each day in the movie Groundhog Day) while the shoulder to shoulder two legged chub-ons froth up the water till it resembles a $5 Starbucks Latte...

today it probably sounded more like metal malitia under the water up there. although i like to fish the flyzone, i have sometimes thought they should go back to closing it. the only dilemna is that it would push a lot of anglers elsewhere on the river, just crowding it even more. i remember the drought of 07 when fly zone was closed til nov. 15th. i was up there in october sometime or another and it was so p-leasing to see about 400 cohoes just calmly resting right above the altmar bridge. it seemed so perfect to see that with out a line or person ever coming in there way. maybe we should just become tree huggers and fish activists and start a stop fishing program to save the quality of a fishes life... Not a tree hugger, but IMO the LFZ should be reserved for kids and Senior Citizens who no longer have the physical ability to hump a few miles long the trails.

I'm tree hugger. . . . every bow season. Oh and hey, I've already noticed some real fancy flies stuck to the who-haa of some fish, man that has to hurt trying to pass those things!!!!

Stress is just one hookset away from being gone.

I have a better idea...the whole river should be fly fishing only...that's just a dream of mine.

The whole river doesnt have to be fly only, just catch and release. That alone will eliminate 3/4 of the people than we can all just get along and fish!

you can get a whole collection of flies from some of those fish later in the season!!

i think the most i pulled off of one fish was 8...

that kind of pressure would keep me moving!!
