Once when the Salmon River was blown out---------Black was blown out too.......but was able to fish the backcurrent/seam that was from the shoreline out to about 15-20 feet.........the old man I were hooking up all day long......it was a blast, minus the locals keeping every fish and dragging them to the house 10 at a time and asking us for our eggs.........

we fished downstream of a huge dam......everyone was at or near the dam....not sure if the river is wadeable under normal circumstances...but on the day we were there, we didn't dare take a step into the water.......

When the Salmon are running there are too many people everywhere!
You could always hit the Oswego,Little Salmon, the Sandys, and any other creek that flows into the lake, the fish will be everywhere at times.

yes... everywhere. i love to just walk drainage runoffs and little feeder creeks in late october and mid march or so. i don't even take a fishing rod. i get enjoyment though out of just seeing thyese large wild spawning fish make their way in to water you couldn't ever imagine finding them in...

I was looking at Google Earth, It looks good. Should be similar to other areas Ive fished. Going to try mooching skeen, and some gulp minnows as fish are fresh. Going up early thursday to SR, then friday or saturday to BR

    Dimebrite:

You are so right about this enjoyable experience.  Especially if there are still leaves with some color in them.  It is amazing how small some of these streams are that support these hugh spawning fish.  More enjoyable than tangling with the crowded waters in Sept/early Oct. to fish.  Getting to enjoy this experience more each year in my old age.
