I've got 8 stands or blinds out and have been scouting for nearly 2 months. I'am already whipped and need a couple weeks rest before the season even starts. Hated that 85+ and bugs but hopefully it will pay off. The weather now is great. Come on frost

My buddy and I have 7 stands out now plus we always have our climbers. I have put lots of sweat equity into this years preparation. I'm going to stay the heck outta there until I am coming in with my bow in hand.

Good luck to everyone this season!

The deer really like this cooler weather. I've seen more deer movement in the early mornings the last three days than I have in the last two months. Still a bunch of black flies to contend with though.

There were five deer in the yard this morning. Most I've seen together around here in a while.

We did lots of brush cutting in our Greene county spots, and I have the poison ivy to prove it, but I think it will be worth it at the end of next month.

Yepper, I am dealing with the poison ivy right now too.  I was weedeating a few paths on Sunday and clearing some overhanging briar branches from the trails (so I don't snag my eyeball like last year in the dark, luckily I had a contact in and it just ripped it out of my eye).  It is tough trying to hunt and drive with only one contact in.

Only got one ladder stand set but I use my climber most of the time.  I'll wait until I figure out some of the movements before I put out my fixed stand with sticks.  I can get that puppy up in 20-30 mins.  I'll be leaving my prime hunting ground alone until the season starts now.

Poison Ivy was horrendous out there.  I was fully covered up and showered in DAWN dish soap when I came home but I still got it on my arms, hands and face.  Skeeters were really bad too for some reason.  I'll be buying a thermacell for the early season this year.  Lots of acorns out there and the wild grapes were HUGE.  Lots of wild cherry dropping too.

I like to spot potential stand trees early in the year and cut the climbing ivy near the base of the tree, in the early summer. Then by the time I hang my stand I can usually pull it down with gloves without getting it.

It never fails that the tree I want to be in is usually covered in it.

Better too far back, than too far forward.
