Dog days of summer for sure.  I felt like I had cabin fever in August instead of February or March.  Can't stand the heat even to wet a line.  Bring on the cold and snow.  You can always put on more clothes.  Planning on trying Moraine starting next week.  Never fished it in the fall, that hunting stuff usually gets in the way, but looking forward to it this year.

Hey Bassboat Bill, the forum is slow....just like fishing has been.Took the boat down to the Mon at New Eagle the last two weekends. Was only able to scratch out a few bass each time out. Had to really slow down the presentation to get them to even take notice. We must be married to the same woman, my wife thinks Im crazy too. Just walked in from 10 hours on the job and couldnt wait to see what was going on the forum. I guess we both need to get a life.

Feeshin' is taking a back seat for me in favor of the stick and string. When the rivers start to cool and I kill my 150" buck I will be back at it on the river chasing eyes....

burger, don't lie.. u cant wait to get on to see the drama I started for the day.

everyone is out perfecting their camera skills... too afraid to post blurry pics or bad fishing handling

hdr or macro is the new Polaroid.

"Sure, we can assiduously three-quarter our wets downstream, mend and wait out each fly swing, over and over again, which to my way of thinking, anyway, relegates the angler to the role, not of nemesis as it should be, but of butler."

Going to try the Ohio @ Dashields starting Monday.  A nice supply of Creek Chubs should be the ticket.  Must admit having only fish once in 2 months is definitely because of the Dog days of SUMMER!  ShYIPPEE, now if the eyes only will cooperate!

Loyalhanna was a bust.  Couple 'gills, a rock bass/bluegill hybrid, saw a bunch of squirrels, couple herons, several deer. Beautiful day to be out though. Sure beat work.

If I could straighten out Benthook he woulda been there.

Edit to add: Water temp was 69-73`, things are lookin' up!

norm, some aren't too scared to post, some chose not to do so while others were posting nonsense they didn't care to participate in... there is a difference.

When the water gets down to 70* should be around the end of the ski/tubing season.
At least for my crew without wetsuits.
Almost every time I try to go fishing I end up doing everything but fishing from the boat.
A friend wants me to put a wakeboard tower to my boat.
I said go ahead if it has outriggers and rocket launchers.

I know, hence the lol. When I first joined, a wise old time member told me to weed through the BS. You will find what you are looking for...

    OK...

BBB... as for other reasons... the seasons are changing, days on the water are getting shorter, kids are going back to school so there is more 'homework patrol' and school activities for parents and homework for the kids, more time in the woods for hunting seasons (some great pics on the 'deer cam' thread, BTW) and it seems that as the seasons change so do the postings... and they will be back...
I don't know if you watch other areas of the board or not, much activity has been in the NY and NW Pa area as folks are getting antsy for the start of steelhead and salmon fishing.
If all else fails, may I suggest a 'fix' for the short term.... the recipe is easy.... grab an ultralight set up, some small hooks and bobbers, a half dozen worms and head out for a while and pretend to be a kid again! Might not cure all ills but sure does wonders for me! LOL

+1 its hard to believe that some "adults" contribute so little. I'd hate to be that lonely.
