Lake Erie Tour ===
well it's 7:45pm and intead of catching perch ---- I am on my computer.. soo.....
Yep --the winds had the lake to rough and the trip got cancelled..
third time for my two buddies to get cancelled this week... BUMMER !!
The day was not lost though, knowing I do not go to or know Erie they decided to show me the fishing sites ... I enjoyed it very much..
Now I have my own idea of what some of the places you guys all talk about are...
we explored....
I hope I have the names right..
the BOC bait store
Poor Richard's... and yes he got money from each of us
Walnut access area... and yes even saw my 1st live and swimming steelhead there...
Trout Run ??? ... they explained about the fishing only at the mouth and the "50 yard rule" .. and sure enough there were over a hundred small trout swimming around in the run itself... COOL !!!!
We definitely could see why there were no boats out on the lake -- white-caps everywhere !!!
They showed me Elk Run..
and talked about Godfrey ...
The stories they shared about their steelhead trips and fightin' steelheads were enjoyable but as I guess is the case with anyone that does that type fishing it was not long before the "ugly" stories started too...
I did not hesitate to tell them that's the #1 reason I have not got interested in the elbow to elbow steelhead fishing scene at Erie... I'd rather sit home and read about it than experience it myself...
so I do NOT think they made a steelhead fisherman out of me -- although I did enjoy the day..
and as small as those "runs" were I think I'd love to see them with hundreds of BIG fish in them... so who knows ... maybe ONE trip....
finally --- the Black Angus Wraps at McDee's were super !!!!
Anyone try those 2# sandwiches for around $7.00 we saw a sign for on route #5 ?????
