Worm charming

Has anyone tried this?  I'll surly look stupid doing this, need to know if it works.

    They did an episode of Dirty Jobs doing something similar.  It works but, drink lots of beer before hand so you have an excuse...

    Vibrations bring them up. Notch a 2 inch piece of wood [need about 10 to 15 notches] pound it solid in the ground and rub another piece of wood up and down the notches very quickly. They come flyin out. Same principle as an electric current...WF

    Sounds like I need to stop and get a 6 pack and hit the back yard....or a 12 pack and try the front yard.

    Beats paying 3$ a dozen. Or staying up till 2am to walk around your yard with a flashlight:)
