Premanufactured egg pattern

When using the pre-made egg patterns how are you to glue them ?  I made a few by piercing through them and applying adhesive directly to the hook.  Is this correct or should I make wraps where I will be gluing it ?

I've done them that way and I also have strung them on heavy thread using a sewing needle.  If I use the strung ones tie one side of the thread to the hook shank , then slide the egg forward and tie the other tag end tight against the egg. Cut your strung thread and move to the next one. Someone on this site gave me that many years ago and it works for me.

The glued ones worked ok for me but you need to get the hook point thru the piece of thread or whatever that holds the egg pattern together. I don't know if grazy glue just sticking to the loose yarn of the egg fly will hold.

The other way is like you used to string popcorn if you are an old timer. Take a length of heavy thread and attach a sewing needle by running the string thru the eye of the needle. Then poke the needle thru the egg pattern and just string them on.

String them up and leave some extra thread on the string of eggs.  An extra inch or two of thread per egg should be plenty.  Start at the beginning of the thread and tie it to the top of the hook shank. Slide your first egg pattern to the tying thread, then take your thread behind the egg and tie the thread down tightly again. Tie your tying thread off, cut the tying thread and move on to the next egg.

lay a small base of tying thread on the hook stick the hook through the egg
super glue on the thread base push the egg on the thread base.

It just sunk in to me that perhaps your talking about the molded rubber eggs like otter eggs or real eggs instead of small pom poms. If that's the case the otter egg web site has suggestions from him on tying them.

I agree w/ff46. A few thread wraps on the hook shank, slide the egg on and add some glue to the thread base. Or simple make a moe egg with a craft bead, thats what I prefer.
