Looking for info about French Creek...

I'd truly appreciate knowing where to find information on

I'm interested in Fly fishing this river/feeders for Trout!
DO NOT want to spot burn.... so please send me a PM!!!!!!!

French does have some trout but they are not the predominate species. It's more widely known for it's smallies, muskies, walleye.

I usually chase smallies on French Creek but if I were going to target trout, I'd go to the areas where stocked trout streams empty in French, then look for deeper runs and holes in close proximity. The streams here have been pretty low this year and if there are any holdovers they probably would be in the deeper cooler water, if that is even possible?

Hefalump, Trout will be very difficult to find on French Creek. You might try down where Sugar Creek dumps into FC but this late in the summer don't expect much! I'd suggest targeting smallies. Last couple of weekends were pretty good on the creek.

30 years on the creek..... I have witnessed one trout caught by a yinzer completly on accident and MILES away from any feeders that were stocked so it's still a mystery. You can do what you want but chase the smallies trout will be a waste of time....

sugar is a feeder to french creek and it is stocked , if u target trout your chances of catching them are alot greater , if you are throwing a size 10 rainbow rapala or a big chartruse green spinner bait then i would guess u would catch smallies instead
