Should have been if it wasn't for 4-5 frosts right when they were in full bloom. I live on the edge of 1B-2F and the apples are from non-existant to good depending on how protected the tree and the timing of their blooming. It was the best year for flowering I have ever seen but the frosts hammered mine.

Im gonna let u guys in on ONE of my tricks.... Pear trees! Their fruit stays on the trees longer. Meaning, those bucks stay around feeding on em until they are gone.

    Tell me about it.
I have 4 pear trees in my yard and the ground under them is trampled to dirt.

Theres an old witherede pear tree next to the road on the route I drive to and from work. Early in the year, before hunting season, that tree is LOADED. On average, one deer a year is killed by cars there.
